The two feature races on Investec Ladies Day are the Investec Coronation Cup and the Investec Oaks. The Investec Oaks, arguably the top race for fillies in Europe, is contended over the same 1 ½ mile course as the Investec Derby and features only the finest 3 year old fillies, ensuring the action off course is matched by the style and glamour alongside it.
The ‘Style on the Downs’ fashion competition epitomises the essence of Investec Ladies Day, when chic summer outfits and millinery are showcased to find the most stylish lady on course. The competition culminates with a shortlist of 10 being whittled down to the top 3 and the winner crowned live on BBC Television. This year's prize was a luxury trip for two people to Ireland, courtesy of Tourism Ireland.
The highlight of the Investec Derby Festival is undoubtedly the Investec Derby. The race stands apart from any other as the greatest horse race in the world. 2010 was the 231st running of The Investec Derby and today it remains the race that every owner, trainer, breeder and jockey wants to win more than any other. The Investec Derby is witnessed by a crowd of up to 125,000 who flock to Epsom Downs to celebrate a one of the most historic and quintessentially English events.
This year, the Investec Derby was supported by a number of official partners, including Bremont, Jaguar, Tourism Ireland, and Tote. Our official charity is Sparks. Click here to learn more about Sparks or make a donation.
