2007 Style on The Downs winner - Suzanne Murphy
What will you wear to Ladies Day in 2008? Epsom's Ladies Day is rapidly becoming one of the spectacular sporting and social events of the summer season.

Racegoers can enter our popular 'Style on The Downs' competition by visiting our Style Stable in the Derby Village in the Grandstand Enclosure before 1pm. Grandstand and Queen's Stand ladies wearing suitable racing attire and a hat or fascinator will be eligible to enter. The prize for the 2008 winner will be a brand new Jeep.

A panel of judges will then select finalists to be entered into the live final which takes place in the Winner's Enclosure and is broadcast on the BBC.

The judges will be looking for the lady whose outfit fills the following criteria:
- Style and originality
- Attention to detail
- Suitability of outfit for racing
- Appreciation of the current fashion trends

The 2007 results

Leading figures from the world of fashion combed the course as our 'Style Spotters' looking for the most stylish person of the day as part of the Style on the Downs competition.

Tara O'Callaghan, society milliner, Claire Dwyer, Face of the Festival and Emma Trayner of Per Una had a tough job but finally chose 6 stunning finalists. Another 4 finalists were chosen from the registration area in our 'Style Stable' in the Vodafone Village.

With Matt Baker presenting the Final, the judges decided the winner should be Suzanne Murphy from Kingswood. Suzanne was wearing a beautiful Sue Wong dress and a coordinating hat created by milliner Edwina Ibbotson.

Second place went to Emily Cowburn, who won £1000 Per Una vouchers and the third place went to Catherine Gee who received £500 of Per Una Vouchers.

Rachel Wickens from Lower Kingswood was our first winner in 2005 and Richelle Burns took won in 2006 - both drove away in a brand new Jeep Cherokee.
