Where can I find out what time the racing starts?
Click here to find out the race times for any meeting at Epsom Downs this year. We advise you arrive at least an hour to an hour and a half before the first race to ensure you have plenty of time to find some refreshments and maybe place a bet.
Where can I park?
There is car parking available at Epsom Downs, available to buy in advance or on the day. We do suggest that for our larger events you book in advance online
or call 0844 579 3004.
Dress codes for the Queen's and the Grandstand – other race days
Please be guided by a smart casual dress code. Jackets and trousers with a collared shirt are encouraged but smart denim* and smart trainers are acceptable.
*Please note that smart denim must not be faded or have tears or rips
Where can I bet?
The best places to bet are the totepool counters located across the Racecourse or with the bookmakers who are situated in the betting ring at the front of the Grandstand Enclosure, in the betting ring on The Hill and in the Lonsdale, Walton and Upper Tattenham Enclosures.
Can I buy food at Epsom?
You can enjoy a wide range of catering outlets and bars at Epsom Downs. From the seafood bar in the Queen's Stand to fast food outlets outside of the Duchess's Stand, there is something to satisfy most taste buds!
Can I bring a picnic?
Picnics are welcome in all enclosures and car parks except for the Queen's Stand and the Grandstand enclosures, and Lonsdale Garden (area within Lonsdale enclosure).
Can I have a barbecue?
They are strictly forbidden in all enclosures including The Hill due to their proximity to the track. This is part of the Epsom and Walton Downs Act (the byelaw states) That a person shall not, without the consent of the Conservators, “camp or light fires” on the Downs; it is an offence to contravene the byelaws. This includes bonfires and BBQs.
Can I bring a dog?
We only admit assistance dogs, so please leave your pets safely at home. Please do not leave dogs in your car.
Is there a drop off and pick up point?
Yes, by the old Derby Stables, which is opposite the Queen's Stand and Lester Piggott gates
Are there any refunds?
We operate a strict no refund policy, and will refund only if the event is cancelled by Epsom Downs Racecourse.
Where is a good meeting point?
Queen's Stand customers should meet by the statue of the horse Generous by the Parade Ring. Duchess’s Stand customers should meet outside the main entrance and customers in trackside enclosures such as Tattenham Straight or Lonsdale can arrange to meet by specific furlong markers. We advise all race goers to use mobile phones to keep in touch with the rest of their party.
Is there a cash point at Epsom Downs Racecourse?
We recommend you take cash out before you arrive at Epsom Downs Racecourse. Although there are cash points in the Queen's Stand and Duchess's Stand Enclosures, they often have long queues. If you're on The Hill or in any of the coach enclosures there is no access to cash points. Epsom Town Centre and the parade of shops near Tattenham Corner Station are the nearest cash points.
What facilities are there for disabled customers?
Epsom Downs works hard to cater to the needs of its disabled race goers, offering preferential parking, accessible toilets, a reserved viewing platform by the rails, ramp and lift facilities (with the best facilities being in the Queen's Stand). Please call our Ticketing Team for more information or if you have a specific requirement.
Can I bring my own drinks, food or picnic?
Customers in the Grandstand and Queen's Stand Enclosures cannot bring their own drinks, food or picnic. However, customers on The Hill and in all bus enclosures are welcome to bring their own.
Do I need a racecard?
If you are in hospitality, you can expect that a racecard will be provided for you. Please note that this is dependant on the package you have bought. Otherwise a racecard is an essential investment which contains all the information you will need for a day at the races. They are sold from kiosks across the course on race days.
Can I take my camera?
You may use a camera in the normal public enclosures, as long as the photographs are not for commercial use. Commercial photographers need to apply for accreditation to attend race days. (see the 'Press' section of this site).
Can I use public transport to get to Epsom Downs?
We encourage all our visitors to use public transport or car share where possible. For details on local public transport, click here.
